AnyDesk is a management software used to monitor and maintain remote devices. This
software will be installed on your POS and KDS devices to provide quick, easy, remote
support for your business. To implement
this software, we need to install 2-3 programs, depending on the device. The
first will be the AnyDesk Client or ‘app’. The second (and/or third) will be
the plugins that allow remote control over the device.

the file is downloaded, press ‘install’.

the installation is complete, press ‘open’. This will open the AnyDesk

From
here, you should see a mostly white screen with “Your Address:” listed at the
top. The
AnyDesk Client installation is now complete. Let’s move on to the plugins.
Plugins:
The
first plugin we’ll be downloading is called ‘ADControl-AD1’ and will be used
for both POS and KDS devices. POS’s will need only this plugin to receive remote
support. The KDS’s will require a second plugin,
which we’ll discuss later.
To
download the first plugin (ADControl-AD1), go to the home page of the AnyDesk
Client and look for the keyboard icon with an exclamation(!) point near it.
Touch the icon and the Client will bring you to the
downloads page. Scroll
down the bottom of the page to download the APK file.
Click ‘Don’t
show this again’, and press ‘Ok’
Only
download the APK file, DO NOT download from the Google Play Store.
- Once
the APK file has downloaded, open the file. A pop
up will appear asking if you want to install the app: Press ‘Install’.
- After
the installation is complete, press ‘done’ and use the back arrow at the bottom
of the screen to go back to the AnyDesk Client.
- From
here, another pop up will appear asking to activate the plugin: Press ‘Agree’
This
will take you to the Android Accessibility Settings, where we’ll need to enable
the AnyDesk Control Service AD1.
After seeing this pop up go to Settings > Apps, scroll down until you see 'Special App Access' > AnyDesk custom > Device Admin Access > Activate
After
we’ve activated the AnyDesk Client, we can go back to the plugin:
- Settings > Apps > All Apps > ADControl-AD1
Under ‘App
Info’ > Click
the three dots in the top right corner and select ‘Allow restricted settings’.
Now
when we go back to the Accessibility settings, the options will be available
and no longer greyed out.
Go
into the AnyDesk Control Service AD1 details and enable the module.
When
the pop up appears, press ‘Allow’. From
here you can press the back button a few times and it will bring you back to
your AnyDesk Client dashboard.
You will also notice that the keyboard(!) icon
is no longer showing, meaning that all necessary plugins are installed.
AnyDesk
is now set up on your POS device. When requesting support, all
you’ll need to provide is “Your Address” to the technician, and a remote
connection can be established.
KDS
Disclaimer: All KDS Devices will require a second plugin
installation to complete a remote management connection.
You will notice a
keyboard(!) icon next to your address if there is an additional plugin for your device.
Tapping
the keyboard(!) icon will bring you to the Generic Driver for your KDS. Next, Download
the APK File and Install
the plugin.
When
the installation is complete, press ‘Done’ and go back to the AnyDesk Client. A pop
up may appear asking to activate the plugin, press “Agree” and the setup will
be complete.
AnyDesk
is now set up on your KDS device. When requesting support, all
you’ll need to provide is “Your Address” to the technician, and a remote
connection can be established.
