PCI Compliance Scan: How To Find Public IP Address

How To Find Public IP Address

INTRO

To assist you with completing a successful PCI scan (for PCI compliance), we'll need the public IP address of your store. What is an IP address? An IP address is a unique number assigned to every computer on the internet. We need the public-facing IP address of the store’s router.

OPTION 1: SMARTPHONE/COMPUTER (EASIEST)

  1. On your smartphone and/or on your computer, connect to your store’s WiFi/Internet network.

  2. Open https://www.ipchicken.com/

  3. Text or email us the blue number (IP address) next to the yellow arrow (you can also send screen shot):

    1. Text: 916-580-2750

    2. Email: helpdesk@cocard.com

OPTION 2: CALL YOUR INTERNET PROVIDER

Call your store’s Internet Provider also known as "ISP" (e.g., Comcast, Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, etc.) technical support dept and ask them for the store’s public-facing IP address. Text or email that number to:

  1. Text: 916-580-2750

  2. Email: helpdesk@cocard.com

OPTION 3: PCI WEBSITE

Login to PCI compliance website: https://pciapply.com/pcicompliance. If you don’t have your username and/or password, contact us please.
